Look once a month.
Treat your finances like your health: one check-in a month, not a spreadsheet you have to keep feeding. LOAM reads your own transaction history and hands back a short report on where your money is quietly leaking — and what to do about it.
LOAM is preparing to launch. We are not accepting sign-ups yet. If you would like to hear from us when we open, or you represent an organization interested in offering LOAM to the people you serve, write to support@loamfinancial.com.
What the report covers
Every figure in a LOAM report is computed from your actual transactions, and every finding points back at the transactions it came from.
-
Recurring charges
Every subscription and recurring bill we can find, in one list. Mark each one keep, maybe, or cancel — and we stop nagging you about the ones you meant to keep.
-
Credit card interest
What interest actually cost you over the period, totalled rather than scattered across a year of statements.
-
Overdraft and NSF fees
Fees are easy to miss one at a time and hard to ignore added up. We add them up.
-
Idle cash
Balances sitting in accounts paying little or no interest, with what the same money could earn elsewhere.
-
Price hikes and new charges
Subscriptions that went up without telling you, and charges that only just appeared — the free trial that quietly turned into a bill.
-
What changed since last month
Cancellations that stuck, new charges that showed up, and a running total of what LOAM has found you so far.
How it works
Three steps, then once a month it happens on its own.
-
Connect your accounts
You link your bank and card accounts through Plaid, the service most banking apps use for this. Your bank credentials go to Plaid and your bank — never to LOAM.
-
We read the history, not just this month
Your first report looks back as far as two years, so the picture starts complete rather than building up over time.
-
You get one report a month
A short, prioritized list of what to do, ranked by what it is worth. We email you that it is ready; the report itself lives behind your login, not in your inbox.
Built for data we take seriously
Bank transaction history is about as personal as data gets. A few commitments we hold ourselves to, described in full in our Privacy Policy:
-
We never see your bank login
Bank credentials are entered in Plaid's interface and go to your financial institution. LOAM receives permissioned data, not passwords.
-
We don't sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. LOAM is paid by subscription, not by advertisers.
-
Encrypted, and access-controlled
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, connection credentials are encrypted with managed keys, and access is limited to what running the service requires.
-
Disconnect whenever you like
You can disconnect a bank connection at any time, which stops LOAM from receiving any further data from it.
For organizations
LOAM can be offered under a partner's own name to the people that organization serves — housing counselors, lenders, and financial-education programs sponsoring their clients' first reports. If that sounds like your organization, write to support@loamfinancial.com.
Pricing
LOAM will be a subscription, offered monthly and annually, with pricing published before we open to the public. Where an organization sponsors your access, they cover your first months and you choose whether to continue afterward.
